Freud worked on the conscience of the brain. He says that the id is the unconscient and biggest part of the brain, and that we have an ego and a surego.
He says that dreams are created by the id. We dream about things that afraid us, or wish could happen. He believes the dreams to be composed of two parts : he manifest and latent content. The manifest content can be thought of as what a person would remember as soon as they wake up. The manifest content possesses no meaning whatsoever because it was a disguised representation of the true thought underlying the dream.
The latent content holds the true meaning of the dream – the forbidden thoughts and the unconscious desires.

This week we had to memorize a monologue from one of Shakespeare's drama. I chose a monologue from Romeo and Juliet. Juliet is talking to herself and doesn't know that Romeo is actually listening to her. She would have liked Romeo to belong to an other family than the Montague. She is wondering why this should happen to him, and is saying that a name really doesn't even mean anything. For that she uses comparison such as the rose, "which would smell just as sweet if we called it by any other name". She finally says that he could take all of her if he changes his name.
It was pretty easy to learn this monologue, because it is not very long and I chose it because there was not a lot of complicated words.

I think classical music and Renaissance architecture match very well. The buildings are huge and luxurious. The music is calm, very emotional, and I can imagine being in one of these churches or castles, listening to this music and feeling freedom. And I think since the rooms are really big, the sound of the instruments should had a really good reverberation when there was concerts.

Seeing Stars - Screenwriting for Amateurs
Balian of Ibelin and his new army were waiting inside the city, when he saw a man on the horizon. He told his army that the enemies where here but the army did not trust him. And then, a million of cavaliers arrived in the front of the gates of the city and started to attack the city with fire canons, until the walls fell.
In reality, they would have attack them with swords, bows and arrows because they did not have fire canons.

I remember that Jewish people eat unleaved bread once a year to celebrate the day when the angel of the death came to save them. This holiday is called Passover. The Torah is the book of Jewish religion. Abraham is the founder and prophet of this religion. Yom Kippur, what means 'Day of Atonement', is the most important holiday of the Jewish year. Rosh Hashanah is the equivalent of New Year in the Jewish calendar.

This week we talked about medieval's gardens. There are different types of gardens. Pleasure gardens belonged to wealthy people, it was created to look pretty. The purpose of medicinal gardens was the same as a pharmacy today, we could find only medicinal herbs. Kitchen gardens contained only vegetables and fruits. We could find cloister gardens only in cloisters. This type of garden was closed and used symmetry.

This video shows Roman's way of life. We learn that when a woman is about to get married with someone, she has to wear all the jewelries from him. The Romans like to meet in the baths. This is a huge place where they can take a bath, talk with each other, go to the library, play sport, eat... The Romans often have slaves to help their families. The slaves are black people. The slaves can be gladiators, which means they are armed combatants and confront other gladiators, wild animals or condemned criminals. But gladiators can be volunteers, or schooled under harsh conditions.

The Aeneid is a roman about the story of Aeneas. Aeneas is a Trojan. He went to Italy and became the ancestor of the Romans. After he went to the Underworld with the help of Sibyl to see his father and the future. He like this story because I think he is courageous and it is not common.
